Business Objectives

Mission Statement

To enhance the life experiences, viability and economic growth for remote locations worldwide, through the development of a low-cost, zero-carbon emission air transportation system.

Vision Statement

Availability of food in Northern communities at the same price as in the city.

Technology Development

Buoyant aircraft technology is not as obvious as it appears; or, as one industry insider describes it, “deceptively sophisticated.” The principal operators of BASI have over 70 years of combined study in buoyant aircraft technology, this sophistication is well understood by our team.

Giant Zeppelins flew successfully over 80 years ago without any of the advantages that current engineers have to work with. Advances in materials and methods allow the production of modern airships to be safer and more efficient.

BASI’s research team has four major projects

  • Design of a rigid buoyant aircraft capable of carrying 30 metric tons.
  • An airship-truck ground-handling and transshipment system.
  • Design and development of thin-walled gas-containing structures.
  • Understanding the economics of a buoyant aircraft transportation system.

Team Development and Safety

BASI has a very flat management structure, working directly with the engineering and computer specialists moving the company forward. BASI believes in employee ownership participation as policy for rewarding and building team effort. BASI recognizes the value of safety culture and strongly encourages it. Rules and regulations are strictly adhered to, ensuring the safest operations possible.

Environmental Sustainability

Airships are being developed as a clean technology. They are a means of maintaining and enhancing aspects of our global transportation system while reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere. BASI is committed to using solar power and hydrogen as energy sources. It is BASI’s objective to build zero-carbon emissions transport vehicles for a sustainable future.
